A Familiar

As odd as it may sound, I honestly have a familiar, my cat none the less; not to be too cliche, it is just the best way I can describe the situation. I met our cat Zeus in a shelter, he had been released as a kitten and had traveled from shelter to shelter until he was about a year old. When we saw him, we were all drawn to him, there was something about him that almost seemed magical. Here again though, we could have all just come under the new pet spell.  

A day after we brought him home, I was in my room doing some spiritual work and I had my spiritual objects out. He immediately came over, sniffed all my stuff and sat with me until I was done. At first I didn't think much of it,  its been over the course of  his time here that I have noticed that each time before beginning my work he bolts over to me, stays still by my side until I am done and then leaves and goes on his way as if nothing had ever happened. 

I love having an animal in my home, they are so aware more than I am, and due to my sensitivities it is nice to look over on a creepy dark night and see my cat at ease. It is a different life once you realize what is truly real.
